Chipotle tomato chutney (with a hint of cocoa…)
I’ve always been intrigued by chutneys since they can have dozens of ingredients that blend together perfectly. For me the best part of making chutney is that there is no right or wrong way – just go with the flow and you never know what you’ll come up with! I’ve been meaning to make chutney for a while since I made my mango chutney, but never got around to it until today. Since there have been so many beautiful tomatoes available in the market recently, I was inspired to create a tomato chutney (but with a twist of course!). This time my inspiration came from the Mexican flavours of chipotle chilli and cocoa.
Spicy luscious mango chutney
Oh how I love mango chutney! It’s one of those things that you can eat in many ways – on toast as a snack, with naan bread as an appetizer or as an accompaniment to a main course. I have always encountered sweet mango chutneys, but decided to experiment and make something a little chunkier and that packs some heat. This recipe is a quick and easy way to make a luscious chutney that will leave you craving for more.
I used to purchase the jarred mango chutney, but after trying homemade, I won’t be going back. You should try it out. I recommend making a large batch, I’m almost done mine as I write this post!
