Green tea, orange, peach and mango cooler

Hello hello! It’s absolutely gorgeous outside today (well at least it looks that way from my window!), so I wanted to make something reminiscent of spring. It’s still pretty cold outdoors, but at least the sun’s shining. To bring a little more sunshine indoors, I made a green tea cooler with orange, peach and mango juice and a hint of lemon. It’s absolutely refreshing!

Beauty Eats- Coconut water “sangria”

Coconut water has always been popular in the tropics, but it just started gaining popularity in North America. It’s become so popular that the local grocery stores were sold out this past weekend! But is this just a passing fad or is coconut water here to stay? Given the nutritional benefits of coconut water, I think it’s here to stay.  It’s a low calorie beverage that is refreshing and provides  a number of nutrients including vitamin C. It’s also a great source of electrolytes which make it a fabulous post-workout beverage.

Tropical sunshine smoothie

Good morning! After a weekend of indulgence, the best thing to have for breakfast is something light and “guilt-free”. This smoothie captures tropical sunshine in a glass and is sure to lift your spirits for the week ahead. To add a twist to the smoothie, I added a hint of ginger for some zing and mint for a refreshing flavour.

When you’re in a rush to get out the door, making a smoothie is probably the easiest way to get some nutrition in a glass. This smoothie has a serving and half of fruits and a full serving of dairy. I doubt I’d be able to have that if I actually had to sit down and eat breakfast.  That’s why I don’t think I could live without my trusty Magic Bullet!

Spicy luscious mango chutney

Oh how I love mango chutney! It’s one of those things that you can eat in many ways – on toast as a snack, with naan bread as an appetizer or as an accompaniment to a main course. I have always encountered sweet mango chutneys, but decided to experiment and make something a little chunkier and that packs some heat. This recipe is a quick and easy way to make a luscious chutney that will leave you craving for more.

I used to purchase the jarred mango chutney, but after trying homemade, I won’t be going back. You should try it out. I recommend making a large batch, I’m almost done mine as I write this post!
