Redcurrant and goat yogurt dip

Hello my lovely readers! Hope you all had a great weekend…

As for my weekend, it was pretty awesome! The weekend started off with a video editing workshop hosted by the Ladies Learning Code. I was a little hesitant to go to an all-day workshop on a Saturday, but this event was worth every minute. I had the chance to learn so much about video editing in so little time. A big thanks to the ladies who organized the event and to BizMedia for coming out and teaching us! I’m very excited to start working on my first recipe video this week!

After the workshop, I celebrated my birthday with a bunch of close friends and hubby dearest. After a late night of singing at karaoke, I had to spend Sunday being lazy. Just spent some time relaxing at home and also basking in the summer sun. The perfect Sunday in my opinion!

Anyways, I know I had promised to have the redcurrant recipe out last week, but clearly that didn’t happen because of everything that was going on this weekend. But it’s here now…So I present to you the redcurrant and yogurt “dip” / “spread” which is a great condiment to put on top of quinoa, rice or any other grains or even salad. I even had this dip with homemade chicken fingers the other day and it was pretty darn good. Read on for the recipe…

March 3, 2012Drinks

Hello hello! What plans do you have for the weekend? I’m working on the magazine this weekend (trying to finish the design), so I can start planning my photo shoots next week. Busy times ahead… So I wanted to make something quick and easy to start my day on the right foot. Here’s an anti-oxidant packed smoothie with an Indian twist. It’s got chai tea (who doesn’t love that!), cocoa powder for more anti-oxidants, chia seeds for fibre, probiotic yogurt, raw honey and my favourite ingredient – frozen bananas. Fibre…check! Fruit..check! Protein…check! And the taste…delicious!

DIY Chocolate Mask

January 24, 2012Discover, Food and Beauty

Today’s Beauty Eats recipe is for all those ladies that need a BREAK. We’ve done a number of skin-friendly recipes on this series, but to make things interesting, today we’re making a DIY mask. So ladies, kick back and take some “me” time this week…

Connie (from Chronicles of a Beauty Nerd) and I have been busy preparing for our first Beauty Eats live event for the last few days. We’re really excited about it and hope to see a few of you there! And for those of you who can’t make it, we are going to try posting a video soon after. Now with all the preparation, I’ve been a little lax with my regular skincare routine. So, I wanted to take some time out today and just relax. One of my favourite ways to pamper myself at home is with a DIY face mask. ┬áBut, this isn’t just any face mask. It’s rich, it’s luxurious and it’s oh so chocolatey…and best of all, you can eat it too! Well…..only if you really want to…

Today’s Beauty Eats recipe is about healthy food that’s also bursting with flavour. If you’re a new reader, you might be wondering what the Beauty Eats series is all about. The image on the left sums it up perfectly – it’s all about eating skin-friendly ingredients in delicious ways. You can view more recipes from this series here.

You know those days when you have no idea what to make for lunch or dinner because you don’t have enough ingredients at home? Like the day before you end up going to the grocery store? Well, today was one of those days for me. I was planning on heading out to the market, but the weather had other plans. So, there I was staring at my pantry and wondering what I could do with a few cans of tuna and a head of lettuce in the fridge. And then it dawned upon me – tuna cakes! Mini tuna cakes to be precise…since they are definitely cuter!┬áRead on for the recipe and see what Connie from the Beauty Nerd has to say about this dish.
